We’re back! (Almost.)

The UKirk Collegiate Ministries Association is excited to bring you another year of Words for Waiting: Daily Devotions for Advent & Christmas. In partnership with the Presbyterian Mission Agency’s Office of Christian Formation, the devotional will again be available as a printable PDF, and through daily blog posts right here. But we need your help to make it happen!

ARE WE THERE YET? To say the least, the road we’ve all been on for the last year and a half or so has had more than its fair share of twists and turns. In the classic road trip question and this year’s Advent devotional theme, we hope you’ll find room for everything we’ve encountered along the way — deep grief and exhausting uncertainty, cautious hope and commitmentment to work for a better future. As we journey toward the celebration of Jesus’ birth and its promises of hope, love, joy, and peace, what questions are we asking along the way? What do we hope we’ll find when we get there?

We’re looking for UKirk-affiliated students, campus ministers, and campus ministry groups to provide the daily reflections. Neighbors from other areas of the Church are welcome to fill out the interest form as well; that said, in the event of more interested contributors than days in the devotional, we’ll prioritize campus-ministry-connected folks. Once selected, contributors will be assigned a Scripture reading, then be asked to provide a half-page reflection and 1-2 sentence prayer. Visual, poetic, and other creative reflections are enthusiastically welcomed! To see examples of previous devotions, click on the different years under the “Home” tab.

If you’re interested in contributing to this year’s Words for Waiting, fill out this form by September 20.
