This winter will mark 10 years of Words for Waiting! In partnership with the PC(USA)’s Office of Christian Formation, the UKirk Collegiate Ministries Assocation will offer this free resource as a printable PDF and through daily posts here online.
To make it all happen, we’re looking for students, campus ministers, and PC(USA)-connected campus ministry groups to create daily reflections for the seasons of Advent and Christmas. If you’re not currently connected to a UKirk-network ministry, that’s okay! We’d love for you to still fill out the form if you’re interested. In the case that there are more interested contributors than days in the devotional, we do prioritize including campus-ministry-connected folks, but almost always we need a few neighbors to round out the season.
Once selected, contributors will be assigned a Scripture reading from the Revised Common Lectionary’s Daily Readings, then provide a half-page reflection and 1-2 sentence prayer. Visual art, poetry, and other creative reflections are enthusiastically welcomed! To see examples of previous devotions, check out the online version of Words for Waiting here.
If you’re interested in contributing to this year’s devotional, fill out this form by September 18 and we’ll be back in touch the week after that to confirm participation and share assignments.
